A Grass, vagy magyarul fű több növény táptalajául is szolgál, és a felszín nagy részét ez borítja. Négy típusú füvet különböztetünk meg: normál, fertőzött, gomba, és dzsungel.
Füvek típusai[ | ]
A normál fű a föld kockákon terjed. A felszínen levő fűben nőhet 
Gomba, 
Napvirág, virágok, és gazok, és ezek mind levághatóak bármilyen eszközzel vagy fegyverrel. Amennyiben elegendő hely van a füves kocka alatt, kúszónövény fog kinőni belőle lefelé. Fű jelenléte nélkül nem lehet fákat ültetni. A fű alap esetben nem terjed tovább a szintkülönbségeken, de a 
Növekedés botjat használva ez elősegíthető. Az ilyen füveken nem nőnek majd virágok, sem magasabb fű, de még csak fák sem. A fű magától nő a felszínen, de ültethető is a 
Druidatól megvásárolható 
Fűmagvak használatával.
Corrupted grass spreads over Dirt Blocks. Above ground corrupt grass blocks will grow Vile Mushrooms, Deathweed, corrupted flowers, and weeds, all of which can be cut with any tool or weapon. In addition, corrupted thorns will grow from corrupted grass in any condition. Vines do not grow from corrupted grass. This type of grass occurs naturally in corrupted areas and may also be planted from Corrupt Seeds dropped by the Eye of Cthulhu. A large enough amount of corrupted grass will turn the area into a Corruption biome.
Mushroom grass spreads over Mud Blocks and will grow Glowing Mushrooms and Giant Glowing Mushrooms if underground at a depth of 0 feet or below. Patches of mud seeded with mushroom grass can be found in some caverns underground, generally with several tall Giant Glowing Mushrooms. Mushroom Grass Seeds are an uncommon drop from Glowing Mushrooms and Giant Glowing Mushrooms. If planted above 0 feet, the grass will not spread and not grow anything. Mushroom grass glows faintly and can be deliberately used as a light source underground.
Jungle grass spreads over Mud Blocks and will grow vines, jungle thorns, Moonglow, Jungle Spores, Jungle Roses, and Nature's Gift. Jungle grass normally occurs only in the Jungle and Underground Jungle area but can also be planted from Jungle Grass Seeds which are a rare drop from jungle grass weeds and glowing flowers.
