The Bast Statue is a furniture item that grants The Bast Defense buff to players in its vicinity, increasing their defense by 5 points. The buff effect can be toggled via wire. The statue can be found in Sandstone Chests in the lower portion of the Underground Desert, or be found as a furniture in Underground Cabins, or in Oasis Crate and Mirage Crates.

The buff is applied to any players standing within a rectangular area of 169×125 () / 100×84 () tiles centered on the Bast Statue, similar to Heart Lanterns and Campfires.

Notes

• The Bast Defense does not stack, having 2 Bast Statues will only grant +5 Defense.
• Seed 1.1.1.943644112 could help those who need more Bast Statues. After you spawn into the world, go right, and the desert is very close. Start digging once you enter the desert. You will end up in a room that uses a Bast Statues as furniture.

Trivia

• Bastet, or Bast, was the Egyptian goddess of protection, cats, perfume/ointments, fertility, pregnancy, children, music, the arts, and warfare.
• The buff name "The Bast Defense" is a pun on the phrase "The Best Defense."
