The Bee Cloak is a Hardmode accessory that combines the effects of the Star Cloak and the Honey Comb. When the player is injured, three stars will fall on the player's current location and bees are released.

Notes

• The Star Cloak's, Bee Cloak's and Star Veil's falling star effects don't stack. Only three stars will fall at a time no matter how many of these items you have equipped.
• The Honey Comb's, Sweetheart Necklace's, Honey Balloon's and Bee Cloak's bee spawning effects also don't stack. Only one set of bees will appear after being damaged no matter how many of these items you have equipped.
• Because the Bee Cloak is a much later game item than other bee summoning items, bees as a damage source are likely obsolete by the time it becomes craftable. However, it can also be used to receive the Honey buff and to activate the set bonus of:
  • Orichalcum armor Flower Petals.
  • Titanium armor Defensive shards.
  • Titanium armor Shadow Dodge.
  • Palladium armor Rapid Healing buff.
• Because the falling stars deal magic damage, they can trigger the Spectre armor set bonus when hitting an enemy.

Trivia

• The Bee Cloak's, the Star Cloak's, and the Star Veil's projectile is called a Hallow Star.

History

 PC version

• Desktop 1.4.1.2: Now only creates stars when taking damage from enemies.

• Desktop 1.4.1:
  • Stars now deal 75 damage and can ignore up to 25 enemy defense
    • This damage is multiplied by 2x in Expert mode, and 3x in Master mode (the defense penetration remains unchanged)
  • Now uses local immune frames, will not interfere with other piercing projectiles.
  • The base damage of the Bees generated has been increased from 7 to 13, 18 with the Hive Pack.
    • This damage is multiplied by 1.5x in Expert mode, and 2x in Master mode.
  • The player now receives the Honey buff after being hit.
