The Chromatic Cloak is a Hardmode accessory which allows a more controlled Shimmering. When equipped, touching Shimmer does not inflict the Shimmering debuff, and the player can instead start Shimmering at any time while under Shimmer by holding the ▼ Down key. However, after Shimmering starts, it cannot be interrupted, not even by re-equipping the Chromatic Cloak.

Tips

The Chromatic Cloak can be replaced with the Water Walking Boots, Obsidian Water Walking Boots, Lava Waders, or Terraspark Boots, as they have the same effect as the Chromatic Cloak, allowing the player to walk on shimmer, as well as other benefits that the Chromatic Cloak does not have. Although, the Chromatic Cloak can move through shimmer without beginning to phase though blocks. Unlike the accessories listed.
