The Crawltipede is a strong, flying, worm-like enemy that spawns in Solar Pillar areas during the Lunar Events. Uniquely, it has no health bar. Instead, its weak spot is its tail, which can be difficult to hit. However if you manage to hit it you do 10 times more damage then you normally would against an enemy. It seems more aggressive than normal worm enemies, and will fly directly at the player, dealing high damage until it is killed.
The Crawltipede only targets airborne players (does massive damage) and is hardly avoidable even with good wings. Because of this, it's recommended to defeat the solar pillar from the ground.
Fighting this monster as a gunner will prove to be difficult, considering ranged players use wings/boards/whatever for flying around most of the time and shooting enemies doing so, especially with the Hoverboard, considering it gives plenty of speed with it's "left/right & down" movements.
Summoner Minions make short work of this enemy as they tend to target the tail.
Short jumps into the air are usually possible, but it's important to land again quickly as they immediately break of attacking when you touch the ground.
Items that allow dashing make these substantially easier to evade.
Trivia
If using a decent magic weapon and Spectre Armor with the hood, hitting the tail can heal for 600+ hp, the highest self heal per hit in the game.
