The Echo Chamber is a furniture item. It can be activated and deactivated similarly to a monolith. When active, it grants the ability to see Echo Blocks, Echo Platforms, Echo Walls, and tiles painted with Echo Coating. It can also be equipped as a vanity accessory, which enables its effect globally for the player, similar to the Radio Thing.

Notes

• Like other monoliths, the effective range of the Echo Chamber while active is 90 tiles in each direction.
• It can also be activated via wiring.

Tips

• When placed behind enough blocks to be completely shadowed, the floating cube on top of the Echo Chamber loses its glow, becoming effectively invisible. Shadow Paint does not cause the same result. Illuminant Coating still works, making it visible regardless of light level.

Trivia

• An echo chamber is a hollow space used to produce reverberations. By extension, echo chamber can also refer to an environment in which beliefs (true or false) are magnified and reinforced by communicating solely with people who share said belief, while alternative ideas are not expressed or considered.
