"Máš pocit, že tě někdo sleduje..."

Oko Cthulhovo je před-hardmodový boss. Ve většině případů je to první boss, kterého hráč porazí. Když je dosaženo relativně časné úrovně pokroku v hře, tak se Oko Cthulhovo zjeví. Také ho můžete spawnout manuálně, a to zvláštně vyhlížejícím okem. Lze nazývat druhým nejlehčím bossem na poražení (první je Král Slizu), stále je dobrá výzva pro začátečníky!

Zjevení[]

The Eye of Cthulhu může být vyvolán manuálně pomocí Suspicious Looking Eye v Noci (od 19:30 herního času).

Také má 1/3 šanci na spawnutí automaticky, a to pokud jsou splněny následující podmínky:

The Eye of Cthulhu ještě ve světě nebyl poražen.
Aspoň jeden hráč ve světě má přes 200 životů a více než 10 defense.
Alespoň tři městská NPC jsou přítomna.

Když spawnut automaticky, jeho příchod provází zpráva: "You feel an evil presence watching you..." V průběhu 20-40 sekund této zprávy, the Eye of Cthulhu se zjeví a začne útočit na hráče. Pokud není the Eye of Cthulhu poražen před Úsvitem (4:30) nebo pokud všichni hráči umřou či utečou z boje, despawne se.

Behavior[]

The Eye of Cthulhu acts in a manner similar to Wandering Eyes. Like most bosses, it travels through blocks.

The Eye of Cthulhu has two phases. During the first, it attempts to float directly above the player, while spawning 3-4 Servants of Cthulhu, which drop Hearts and Stars on death. After spawning a round of those, it lunges at the player 3 times in succession, before repeating the cycle.

When the Eye of Cthulhu falls below half health (65% in expert mode), it transforms into its second form, which rams the player more aggressively 3 times, then hangs in the air for a period. It no longer spawns Servants, and has lowered defense.

In Expert Mode, the boss spawns more Servants than normal, as well as 4-5 Servants upon transforming. The second form has an additional powerful, rapid dash attack, which also increases its defense significantly. These become more rapid as the Eye of Cthulhu's life is lowered, and it can dash nearly continuously when close to death.

Pokud ukončíte svět poté, co se objeví zpráva "You feel an evil presence watching you...," , Oko se nakonec neobjeví.
The Eye of Cthulhu's ore drop is based on whether the world contains Corruption or Crimson: Demonite Ore for Corruption, and Crimtane Ore for Crimson. If the Corruption/Crimson have been completely eliminated from a world via Clentaminator, the boss may drop the "incorrect" Ore type.
Pokud se pokusíte použít Podezřele Vypadající Oko během toho, co už Oko Cthulha je naživu, další vyvolání fungovat nebude (taktéž nebude spotřebováno další Podezřele Vypadající Oko).
Ovšem pokud použijete Podivně Vypadající Oko poté, co se objeví varování o jeho přirozeném vyvolání, Podivně Vypadající Oko bude spotřebováno a Oko se vyvolá hned. Následně se objeví i Oko z přirozeného výskytu a budete moci bojovat s dvěmi najednou.

The Eye of Cthulhu drops either Demonite Ore or Crimtane Ore. Game-advancing tools at that tier also require Shadow Scales or Tissue Samples respectively, which the Eye doesn't drop, so players will have to fight the Eater of Worlds or Brain of Cthulhu to progress. Regardless, the ore can be still be used to make tools, such as swords or bows, making defeating the eye somewhat instrumental to progressing.
Due to the ease of crafting its summoning item and relatively low difficulty, farming the Eye of Cthulhu is one of the more effective ways of making money prior to Hardmode.
The Eye of Cthulhu will only spawn randomly if a player has 10 or more defense. Taking defense-boosting equipment off before sundown can prevent it from spawning randomly.
The boss looks at the player it will follow, which can be helpful information in multiplayer.
Using Shurikens can be effective, as they pierce through both the Servants and the boss and drop back again, making it possible to hit the Eye of Cthulhu twice each.
When it is spinning, it is most vulnerable because it cannot attack, except for in expert mode.
Because there are no location-based requirements for summoning, slaying multiple Eye of Cthulhu in an area can be an effective setup for harder boss fights as the hearts can be picked up mid-fight as needed.

Trivia[]

Cthulhu je bytost z děl od H. P. Lovecrafta. Poprvé se objevuje v jeho krátkém příběhu The Call of Cthulhu. Cthulhu je popsán jako spící bratranec tzv. "starých". Pokud se někdy probudí, zničí všechno žijící.
Někdy se vaše NPC zmíní o tom, že cítí, jak je něco zlého pozoruje (tento jev se vyskytuje až poté, co splníte požadavky na boj s tímto bossem)
Technicky tohoto bosse nepotřebujete zabít na to, abyste ve hře mohli pokračovat, protože z něj v normálním módu nezískáte žádné unikátní předměty.
I když se zbraněmi získanými v pozdní fázi hry dokážete Oko Cthulhu zranit tak, že zemře ještě dříve, než se stihne transformovat, zbytky jeho těla budou stejně zbytky jeho druhé fáze.
