The Phantasm is a craftable Hardmode endgame Bow that can be obtained after defeating the Vortex Pillar.

The Phantasm Bow auto-fires 4 arrows at once, with no set pattern and inaccurately, similar to the Chlorophyte Shotbow. In addition, when focusing on one opponent, the Phantasm Bow fires a continuous stream of homing (only on a single target, see GIF file) arrows in between attacks, rewarding players that land multiple attacks in a row. Holding down the attack button will increase the firing rate of the bow.

The Phantasm's best Modifier is Unreal.

Tips

• If used against the Celestial Towers during the Lunar Event, the bow can destroy a single pillar within a few seconds.
• Using Ichor Arrows reduces the armor of enemies you hit, increasing the damage from the extra shots as well as the passive stream of arrows from the Phantasm, increasing damage output significantly.
• The bow starts off slow and gains more attack speed while the attack button is held down.
• Combined with Luminite Arrows, damage inflicted could be doubled, because of the double hit property from Luminite Arrows.
• Due to the high amount of hits per seconds, the Phantasm is a great weapon to use against the Dungeon Guardian.
• Because of its high attack rate, the Phantasm works well with Endless Quiver, as you can destroy any boss with no cost.
• If the Vortex Breastplate is coupled with the Chlorophyte Helmet, and the buffs from both the Ammo Reservation Potion and the Ammo Box are applied along with the Magic Quiver Equipped, it is possible to reach a 89.5552% not to consume ammo. This is the highest possible chance as of 1.3.0.7.

Trivia

• The Phantasm's downside is that if there are multiple mobs that cannot last against more than two volleys, you are unable to use its passive attack to its full potential. The Vortex Beater's area control trumps the Phantasm in this regard.
• Prior to patch 1.3.0.3, a player was able to recover two wooden arrows by shooting one, due to the four arrows fired by Phantasm at once and the 50% chance of recovery of a wooden arrow.
• Coupling this with Holy Arrows, (and Vortex armor,) one can defeat Duke Fishron within 8 to 10 seconds.
• If you get the stoned debuff while attacking you can still shoot the bow.
• The Phantasm has a very slight increase in fire rate if you fire continuously for a few seconds.
