Bubbleblock holding liquids

Bubble blocks holding all three liquids. Note that it doesn't need to be fully enclosed. It also works if you uncap the bubbles.

Bubbles are animated furniture blocks bought from the Party Girl after the world is in Hardmode. When these blocks are placed together in groups, they connect to make a seemingly single larger bubble block. They can also keep liquids in them, but the player doesn't collide with the block itself. This makes them perfect for honey buff pickups for arenas, lava traps for flying enemies and water pickups for the "wet" buff when mounting Cute Fishron.

Notes

  • They are currently the only block in the game that liquids cannot pass through but players and objects can.
  • Buckets can be used to pour liquids directly into Bubble blocks, instead of having to surround it with them. This way, a single bucket of liquid can be stored using just one Bubble, although you will not actually be able to see the liquid stored inside. Storing the liquid this way, however, will result in the liquid being deleted upon leaving the world, as with dropped items.
  • If you use bubble to create a lava pool, coins will be burnt out when contacting the lava, no matter how thin the lava is.
  • Bubbles cannot be hammered into half-blocks, and are thus unable to produce waterfalls.

Mechanics

Bubble block is a very special block. To players, NPCs and items, it is taken as air; to liquids and other tiles, it is taken as solid blocks. So you can use perma-solid blocks and bubble blocks together to contain liquids.
