Sunflowers halting the Crimson?

According to the wiki, it says crimson is halted by sunflowers, I planted sunflowers around my central biome, and all that did was end up with the crimson smashing the sunflowers into pickupable items and spreading anyway. I may be wrong, and even if I'm correct the wiki doesn't reflect it (guess I better fix it), but I thought Sunflowers could only halt the Corruption/Crimson pre-Hardmode. Is your world in Hardmode? NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 22:29, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

a third biome that spreads

First since the crimson was added it also spread like thee corruption and the hallow also it is possible to stop the spread by basically putting two stick that reach hell/the underworld and the crimson has the strongest armor too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nogo1 (talk • contribs)

Crimson grass spreading

Is there an equivalent to the corruption vines that spread corruption grass in crimson worlds? I'm asking because I want to know if I have to fill my 5-tile-gaps with wood or not.
