If you try to enter without defeating him, he will either one-hit you (day), or multiple Skeletron skulls will appear and attack you normally (night).

Inside the dungeon are certain dungeon only items found in [[chests]]. There is a high chance of finding chests and [[life crystals]] in the dungeon.
