* She will level herself horizontally with the player and fly back and forth three times in an attempt to ram the player.

* On the desktop version, console version, and Mobile version, Queen Bee does not despawn when far away from the player.
* Despite the drop for the Bee Keeper, Bee Gun, and Honey Comb all being 33.33%, the player can only acquire one per killed Queen Bee, and they will always receive one of the three upon defeating the Queen Bee.

  +
**This means if a player were to use a Magic Mirror or any of its variants the Queen Bee will chase them back to their spawn point no matter the distance and depending on the spawn point location, will most likely enrage and very likely kill the player.
* Occasionally, a Hive will be large enough to possess 2 Larvae. If a player is using a bouncing weapon such as the Water Bolt, they need to be wary of the second Larva, lest they be set upon by another Queen Bee.

  +
**In multiplayer, if all players currently fighting Queen Bee die at the same time and any other players are alive at the time, the Queen Bee will pursue the other players even if they are hundreds or thousands of blocks away and will only swap aggro to a different player on the death of her current target.
* A World can possess multiple beehives, and multiple bees.

  +
***The only way to properly despawn the boss outside killing it is for all players in the world to die at once.
*Orichalcum armor's set bonus can break the Larva, causing the Queen Bee to be unintentionally spawned.

  +
* In Expert Mode, Queen Bee's charges increase both in speed and number.
*Sometimes the Star Cloak will destroy the Larva, causing the Queen Bee to be spawned.

  +
** At low health, Queen Bee can do up to six charges in a row before changing her attack.

* The Larva can be broken by any damaging weapon, similar to a Pot, so many actions such as the Orichalcum armor's set bonus or a Star Cloak can break the Larva, causing Queen Bee to be unintentionally spawned.
  +
** This is especially common if there are remaining larva within the Jungle late into the game, when it is possible to hit things anywhere on the screen, even behind solid blocks. It is also possible early in the game if using a whip, which can break things behind solid blocks, or Starfury's star attack.

* In Multiplayer, Queen Bee will despawn upon the death of players just like any other boss, and will not follow them all the way back to the spawn.

* Occasionally, a Bee Hive will be large enough to possess 2 Larvae. If a player is using a bouncing weapon such as the Water Bolt, they need to be wary of the second Larva, lest they be targeted by the newly summoned, second Queen Bee.

* Multi-hit, piercing magic, such as Water Bolt or Book of Skulls, or piercing ranged attacks, such as Meteor Shot, are very effective against the Queen Bee especially during her second attack pattern.

  +
* Half of Queen Bee's attacks (Contact and Stinger attacks) inflict the poison debuff, which makes the player slowly lose health. Having the Bezoar equipped makes the player immune to poison.
* The bees do little damage, but can easily become an annoyance as they can push the player around if a Cobalt Shield or Obsidian Shield isn't equipped. Another annoyance is that they will prevent natural regeneration if they keep attacking. The bees can be killed, and have a chance of dropping a heart or a star. A Crimson Rod can be extremely useful for both destroying the bees and doing a steady trickle of damage to the Queen Bee.

  +
* The Honey naturally found in Bee Hives can be used to craft Bottled Honey or provide passive health regeneration mid-fight. However, standing in Honey will heavily slow down the player.
** In the case that you don't have a Shield yet to avoid knockback, any Grappling Hooks can be used to anchor yourself to blocks. A multi-grapple is superior for this, allowing you to position yourself in midair.

Queen Bee is a pre-Hardmode boss. She is summoned by breaking the Larva inside Bee Hives of the Underground Jungle, or by using an Abeemination anywhere within the Jungle. She can inflict the Poisoned debuff.

While Queen Bee is alive, the music Boss 5 will play. When Otherworldly music is enabled, the track Boss 1 (Otherworldly) will play instead.

Attacks

Queen Bee has three distinct attack patterns:

  • She will level herself horizontally with the player and fly back and forth three times in an attempt to ram the player.
  • She will spawn Bees while hovering (which will include larger ones in Expert mode), which attack the player. During this time the variables for how many bees she summons could be 6, 12 or 18.
  • Similar to Hornets, Queen Bee will rapidly fire poisonous stingers at the player. During this pattern, she will alternate between hovering above the player, and positioning herself to swoop in at the player from above.

In Expert Mode, the speed of these attacks increases as Queen Bee takes damage.

When fought outside of the Underground Jungle, Queen Bee enrages, causing her movements to be more aggressive and firing stingers at a much faster rate.

When fought on the Surface Jungle, Queen Bee will still enter an enrage state with faster and more aggressive attacks. However, this enrage state is less aggressive than if the player were to fight her in any other surface biome, such as the Ocean.

Health in Multiplayer

  • In Expert and Master modes, the health of bosses depends on the number of players in multiplayer. Please enter the number of players (a whole number between 2 and 256) on your server in the input box below.

If you don't see the input box and the Calculate button, please check if you have JavaScript enabled in your web browser (instructions for the most popular web browsers). If you're certain that JavaScript is enabled but the button and input box are still not appearing, please contact the administrators on the Terraria Wiki:Admin noticeboard.

This calculator is synchronized with the Desktop version of Terraria: 1.4.4.9.

Unfortunately, this script works doesn't work on mobile devices. You could switch to desktop version of the page.
