The Mannequin is a decorative furniture item that can be used to display armor and vanity items, as well as accessories and dyes.

On the Desktop version Desktop version, Console version Console version, and Mobile version Mobile version, items can be placed on a Mannequin by pressing the Open / Activate button on it, which opens a small set of inventory-like slots beneath the player's main inventory. There are three slots for helmet, shirt, and pants, and five slots for accessories. In addition, each slot has an associated dye slot underneath it. Placing items in these slots immediately displays them on the Mannequin.

On the Old-gen console version Old-gen console version, 3DS3DS version version, Switch version Switch version, and tModLoader version tModLoader version, items can be placed on a Mannequin by pressing the Use / Attack button anywhere on it, which places the item currently held by the player on the Mannequin. If there is already an item in the same slot on the Mannequin, it will be replaced and dropped. Items can also be removed with a pickaxe or drill.

Mannequins can only be removed if no items are placed on them. On Old-gen console version Old-gen console, 3DS3DS version, Switch version Switch, and tModLoader version tModLoader, they can always be destroyed by explosives, however.

The Mannequin always displays armor and clothing in their male sprite forms. The Womannequin can be used to display them in their female counterparts.

Notes[]

  • There are always only five accessory slots available, even if the player has consumed a Demon Heart or is in a Master world.
  • If a Fish Bowl is placed on a Mannequin, it appears to have eyes.
  • It is not possible to place Familiar clothes on a Mannequin.
  • Djinn's Curse does not appear on Mannequins like it would normally. Instead, it is shown as purple pants: Djinn's Curse Mannequin.png
  • Using paint on the top-left corner of the head will color the whole body of the Mannequin. Despite paints only affecting the body, using Illuminant Paint will also illuminate the placed items on a Mannequin. The brightly-lit effect of the paint overlaps with dyes.

  • A total of 112 Mannequins (2240 Wood) are needed to display all armor sets (including variations) on separate Mannequins.
