Parallax

  

PC/Console/Mobile-Only Content: This information applies only to the PC, Console, and Mobile versions of Terraria.

Parallax is an option which controls how much the biome background scrolls relative to the foreground.

Settings of 0–100 (inclusive) are available.

• A setting of 0 (default) will have the background (which consists of sky, walls, etc.) scroll with the foreground (what the player walks on and bumps into etc.).
• A setting of 100 will scroll the background tiles at a high speed compared to walking just a little to the left or right.

Tips

• This effect is most noticeable Underground where the dirt backgrounds can be seen scrolling when the player moves and has Parallax set high.
