Not to be confused with Shrimpy Truffle.

The Scaly Truffle is a Hardmode mount-summoning item. When used, it summons a Pigron Mount that allows the player to fly for a limited time, and run faster on land. It is obtained by fishing in the cavern layer of an Ice biome overlapping a Hallow, Corruption, or Crimson biome in Hardmode.

Highlighted area is where fishing can yield a Scaly Truffle (Snow+Cavern+Crimson).

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • The Pigron Mount's maximum flight time is 2.67 seconds, comparable to the Desktop and Mobile versions Bee/Butterfly/Flame or Console Version Frozen/Flame/Spectre/Beetle/Leaf Wings.
  • There is no movement bonus in liquids.
  • The top running speed of a Pigron Mount is 46 mph, reached after 1.875 seconds.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

Yawn animation of the Pigron Mount.
  • Although the Pigron enemy can appear in different colors, the Pigron Mount's color is pink.
    • Desktop, Console, and Mobile versions The Pigron Mount can be dyed in the mount equipment slot to fit a player's preference, and the biome-specific colors of the Pigron enemy can be recreated with Purple Dye for Corruption, and Red Dye for Crimson.
  • When standing still on it for between 15 and 25 seconds, it will eventually yawn.
  • The Pigron Mount buff tooltip, "Now you see me....", is a reference to how Pigrons can turn nearly invisible. It is also a reference to the widely used phrase "Now you see me... now you don't."
  • It would seem that Pigron and Fishrons share a love of truffles, as the mount-summon items and boss-summon items of both species are closely related to truffles.
