Not to be confused with Shrimpy Truffle.
The Scaly Truffle is a Hardmode mount-summoning item. When used, it summons a Pigron Mount that allows the player to fly for a limited time, and run faster on land. It is obtained by fishing in the cavern layer of an Ice biome overlapping a Hallow, Corruption, or Crimson biome in Hardmode.
Notes
- The Pigron Mount's maximum flight time is 2.67 seconds, comparable to the
Bee/Butterfly/Flame orFrozen/Flame/Spectre/Beetle/Leaf Wings. - There is no movement bonus in liquids.
- The top running speed of a Pigron Mount is 46 mph, reached after 1.875 seconds.[1]
Achievements
Trivia
- Although the Pigron enemy can appear in different colors, the Pigron Mount's color is pink.
The Pigron Mount can be dyed in the mount equipment slot to fit a player's preference, and the biome-specific colors of the Pigron enemy can be recreated with Purple Dye for Corruption, and Red Dye for Crimson.
- When standing still on it for between 15 and 25 seconds, it will eventually yawn.
- The Pigron Mount buff tooltip, "Now you see me...", is a reference to how Pigrons can turn nearly invisible. It is also a reference to the widely used phrase "Now you see me... now you don't."
- It would seem that Pigron and Fishrons share a love of truffles, as the mount-summon items and boss-summon items of both species are closely related to truffles. The reason for this is most likely because of dosmestic pigs, or truffle hogs often being used to harvest truffles.
