Not to be confused with the Plantera Seedling, which is dropped by Plantera in Master Mode, or the Seedler, which is a sword dropped by Plantera.

The Seedling is a pet-summoning item that summons a Pet Sapling that follows the player. If the player flies too high or otherwise moves far enough away from it, it will sprout leaflets and use them to fly with the player, acting as "wings".

The Seedling has a 5*1/20 (5%) chance of being dropped by Plantera.
