Template:Pc only The Obsidian Swordfish is a hardmode spear weapon added in the 1.2.4 update. It can be obtained when fishing in lava using the Hotline Fishing Hook. Chance to catch it is 1:7 with 50% Fishing power and above. It has the second highest damage of any spear, only beaten by the North Pole. Despite its incredible power it is very short compared to other Hardmode spears.

The Obsidian Swordfish has an extremely high base 24% critical strike chance as opposed to the usual 4%.

Like all spears, the best modifier is godly.

Trivia

The Obsidian Swordfish is one of the few fish that can be used as a tool. The other fish include the Swordfish, the Purple Clubberfish, the Reaver Shark, the Sawtooth Shark and the Rockfish.
