[[Voodoo Demon]]s can be found in the [[Underworld]], and are identical to [[Demon]]s in behavior but differ slightly in appearance: a small [[Guide Voodoo Doll]] hangs from one of their talons, and they lack the blue bracelets and anklets that are worn by Demons. Just like normal Demons they take no damage from lava.

Voodoo Demons have 20 more health than standard Demons, but deal the same amount of damage. Instead of having a chance to drop a [[Demon Scythe]] spell, they will always drop their Guide Voodoo Doll. Note that killing one over [[lava]] will likely cause the doll to fall into the lava, killing the [[Guide]] and triggering the [[Wall Of Flesh]] spawn, so be careful. However, if a living Voodoo Demon simply flies low over lava, submerging the dangling doll, it will not summon the Wall of Flesh.

Quick Answers

What is the key difference between a Voodoo Demon and a regular Demon in terms of appearance? toggle section
The key difference between a Voodoo Demon and a regular Demon in Terraria is that the Voodoo Demon has a small Guide Voodoo Doll hanging upside-down from one of its talons. Additionally, it lacks the blue bracelets and anklets that are typically worn by regular Demons.

What happens when a Voodoo Demon is defeated and the Guide Voodoo Doll falls into a lava pool? toggle section
When a Voodoo Demon is defeated, it drops a Guide Voodoo Doll. If this doll falls into a lava pool in the Underworld while the Guide is alive, it results in the summoning of the Wall of Flesh, a formidable boss in Terraria. This also leads to the instant death of the Guide. It's important to note that this event will only occur if the doll is destroyed in the Underworld. If the doll falls into lava outside of the Underworld, it will simply be destroyed with no effect.

How does the Voodoo Demon's behavior compare to that of the regular Demon? toggle section
The Voodoo Demon in Terraria behaves identically to the regular Demon. However, it has a distinct appearance with a small Guide Voodoo Doll hanging upside-down from one of its talons. Unlike the regular Demon, the Voodoo Demon does not wear blue bracelets and anklets. It's a rare enemy found in The Underworld, and it's known for its ability to possess a voodoo doll of the chosen one, linking the soul with the world's guardian.

What item does the Voodoo Demon always drop upon defeat? toggle section
The Voodoo Demon always drops a Guide Voodoo Doll upon defeat.

Why might defeating a Voodoo Demon in the Underworld result in an unwanted event? toggle section
Defeating a Voodoo Demon in the Underworld might result in an unwanted event because these higher-ranking demons can possess a voodoo doll of the chosen one, whose soul is linked with the world's guardian. If the Voodoo Demon is defeated and the doll is dropped into lava, it could potentially trigger a catastrophic event due to the spiritual connection between the doll and the world's guardian.
