Found Dragon armor in Golden Chest[]
On a large map, in the corrupted chasms, on a brand new map on a character who hasn't yet defeated the Wall of Flesh but has full molten equipment, I just found a Dragon Mask in a gold chest. This was on the console version, 4 player splitscreen.
The article says you can no longer find dragon equipment in Gold Chests. May wish to check that fact, at least for consoles. It's also possibly a bug. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.122.134.47 at 09:09, 7 August 2013
Uh some more details, fully patched game, was considered an offline game for the purpose of splitcreen but I was online as far as Xbox Live was concerned - yeah, it was done on an Xbox 360 console. The date was 07th August 2013, around 2pm GMT.
Just a little interesting because I've never entered hard-mode or been in a world that was hard mode certified - the closest I've got was being slain by the wall when a voodoo demon died and dropped a doll into the lava.
Some extra stats now I've got a molten chestplate and greaves with the helmet, 45 defense now. I also had a Menacing versions of band of regeneration, depth meter, obsidian shield, spectre boots and cloud in a bottle.

I got a Dragon Mask from a Golden Chest (outside the dungeon), early on in one of my worlds which was created with the patched version, probably around late-October. LodanSD (talk) 03:54, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
Console only[]

Defense Verification[]
A small edit war has taken place on this page regarding the actual defense values of this armor set, and as I only have the PC version I lack the means to confirm which user, if either, is correct. Could we get someone with the console and/or mobile edition to verify the defense for their respective versions, without modifiers or bonuses? Once this is sorted out I'd recommend that the page be protected as well- like most other high-tier equipment, it's a high-profile target for vandals anyway. tooltips?[]
It seems that the Dragon mask has the tooltip of the Moon Lord Legs. Can someone fix this, I have no idea how to fix it myself or I would. The Breastplate also has the tooltip of a streamer item, but I don't know which one White shadow41 (talk) 14:21, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
