Iron and Lead fences are indeed valid for NPC housing (tested on v1.3.5.1) 77.151.82.128 14:07, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

Monster spawning[]
Do they stop mob spawning? If I dunk my town in fence will zombies stop spawning between houses? SuperCofee (talk) 02:17, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
Something is inaccurate Fence VS Grass/Mushroom/Marigold[]
Bamboo is not "wood fence" but I'm getting grass in the forest biome in front of it.
If by "wood" they mean "all wood types" then that leaves only the two types of iron and one type of lead fence that might stop grass.... but it also says that lead does not stop forest grass. And IRON and LEAD are treated as interchangeable. That leaves wraught iron fence. But that's ALSO an iron fence.
So... does every kind of fence actually permit grass spawns in forest?
Do any of them actually block forest grass growth, and would thus make a mushroom farm MUCH simpler? Is it even possible to get a farm that grows only mushrooms? Or Mushrooms, blueberries and marigolds?
Page implies one thing, but once testing a little bit of it, it seems to not even being close to true anymore?
(Further testing, IRON fence has let both the grass blocks spread, and grass grow, in additon to mushrooms and dyeplants)
