Confusing layout[]

this layout is confusing, I suggest a separate page for console item ids — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.38.217.11 at 16:18, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

Pearlwood Chest ID?[]

whats the id for pearlwood chest? this is the id for the inventory icon not the item — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.38.217.116 at 16:49, 9 May 2014‎ (UTC)

You mean the tile ID? 21 (version 10). And yes, I do guess a separate list for console IDs would be convenient. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 22:24, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

Concerning recent additions to the page[]

User:71.35.99.42 seems quite insistent on adding this edit to the page, even after I reverted it (with comments on how it would work better in console version or piggy bank) twice. Rather than start an edit war, I thought I'd post here to get input on what people think. Is it relevant? Should this page be used solely as a reference for item IDs? I feel like this bug is only very tangentially related to item IDs. -Xolroc (talk) 03:56, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

I'm likewise in doubt of whether it's relevant enough for being on the page. The part "so you can use this to cheat" doesn't help it. For now I'll try reword it to be more objective and place it on the bottom of the page, properly formatted as a bug. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 13:47, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
I've removed it from the page. I think the best location for this would be on the piggy bank page, because the bug is caused by the piggy bank, not the item IDs. For the person adding the change: he made some good edits, but kept vandalizing as well, so I've blocked him for some time. This should also solve the potential edit wars. --0icke0 (talk) 21:27, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

Table Layout, mulitple IDs on a row[]

I was looking for the ID for the various pieces of Dragon Armor, and I am confused.
Candy CaneCandy Cane / Console versionMobile versionDragon MaskDragon Mask 1867 (5001)
What does it mean when the number is in parenthesis? I thought perhaps it was to differentiate Mobile from Console, but then I see this:
Star AniseStar Anise / Mobile versionHoliday BaubleHoliday Bauble 1913 (5047)
Does it mean Mobile later assigned Star Anise the ID 5047? Do Console and Mobile share IDs? —Ferretwings (talk) 20:43, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

Oh I think I know. The icons after an item mean that it’s only available on those versions. If one is before it means it has The I’d in parenthesis. That’s just a guess though Theextroardinary (talk) 17:29, 19 March 2019 (UTC) Theextroardinary (talk) 17:29, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

Page should be reverted to previous lists.[]

This page should be reverted to it's previous state until it is fixed. With the new format with everything in one huge list, there are several issues that make this page confusing. Here are issues with the current state.

1. Some items are just wrong:
"Amethyst Gemspark Block" (1970) is listed as "Offline Gemspark Walls" which are actually IDs 2678 and higher.
2. Some items are missing from the list:
The "Team Blocks" are missing (3621, 3633-3637)
Several statues are missing (447-452)
3. Items are grouped strangely
The extra dungeon wall variations (1378-1383) are grouped up near ID 135 instead
4. Extra information was removed
If I remember right, the old version of the page had information on which items were available in specific versions of the game (PC/Mobile/Console/3DS), but this information is gone now, and you have to click through to go to the item page.
5. All Items revealed at once causes resource loading issues.

I'm using google chrome, and with this new list, a lot of the item images down the list fail to load. Their GET requests take too long for some reason, and the images never load. I never noticed this when the list was split into 300 item chunks. I'm not sure if this is an unrelated issue with the wiki servers, but still, with all content shown at once, the page basically crashes my phone browser. I understand what you are going for here, but as it is, it has too many issues to serve as a replacement. I'm not a wiki editor; I've just been using this list to help me on my personal goal of collecting every single item in the game. The list was so helpful with all of the items listed by ID, it made sorting easy. In order to figure out how to get an item, I can just click through to get to the item's page. However, now with the missing items, and some items not listed in the right ID spot, the list isn't as good of a source now. The images that fail to load, and the items not separated into chunks makes it harder to navigate the list to find the item I am looking for. 75.187.102.128 21:46, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for bringing this up. I will address these issues:
  1. I see the incorrect item ids you are referring to, and I will work on fixing them.
  2. I also see the missing items and I will work on adding them.
  3. The dungeon items will also be fixed. I will also fix the Cave Walls from showing.
  4. I will add look into showing exclusive items better.
  5. I use Mozilla Firefox, and the page loads fine for me, even on my phone. My phone isn't high end either. I'll ask some Google Chrome editors if they experience the same issues as you.
This page was intended to make sorting easier. The entire table is now sortable by ID and Name, unlike before. Even though the table is long, using your Web Browser's Find feature can take you instantly to an ID or name. Another feature of this table is that it gets updated automatically as new items are added.
I apologize for the inconvenience and I will work on correcting the issues quickly. – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 04:50, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
Oh dear, I'm having the same problem. I am currently trying to recover from visiting the page using Chrome on my Andriod.– Ferretwings (talk) 12:30, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
The feature of being sortable is very convenient, and I love how it can update itself. However, as is pointed out here this layout has several issues with user friendliness. For now I suggest there to be two versions of this article: one which holds the old layout (this involves restoring the deleted sections), and one with the full, sortable and updatable table. The new version may then be used to improve the old version, or eventually replace it if it becomes as user friendly as preferrably desired. This solution should fix all the issues described here without sacrificing any of the new functionality offered by the new table. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 14:07, 2 June 2018 (UTC)
After testing on both browser and mobile Chrome just now, there aren't any issues on either for me. It's likely there is another variable here. --Tymon80 (talk) 21:12, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
I too am having no issues with the pictures now for whatever reason, but there are still a ton of missing items. Any chance of the old sections being brought back until this new system is in a fit state? 75.187.102.128 02:25, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
The database is currently in the process of repopulating, so some items will be absent until it is finished. – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 03:04, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
The list is still missing many, many items (rotted fork, crimson heart, hammush, mushroom spear, half the Etherian armour sets, sun and moon masks to name a few I've noticed, and I'm sure many more that I haven't noticed - there are too many gaps to list), and I'm also experiencing problems loading images, even on a high-end desktop PC. Doubtful it has anything to do with browser or memory. May be do with latency. 196.52.60.35 06:15, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
Maybe we can revert to previous lists, and add a link to new list(move to a new page title) for those who need a single huge sortable list.Westgrass (talk) 11:51, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
Sorry! Cargo had an issue when there was a server hiccup. I ran a script that should fix all the issues. – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 19:26, 19 July 2018 (UTC)

I cannot view edit history of the item ids. That is also a problem because I am trying to find something Theextroardinary (talk) 17:31, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

Celestial Emblem's Internal name is set to Pho[]

It should be "CelestialEmblem" --Dragon3025 (talk) 17:17, 29 April 2020 (UTC)

Indeed, and it is now. The sacrifice for being a fully self-updating table is that it needs a little nudge every now and then, in the form of a purge (accessible via the "More" dropdown in the top right corner or directly via the URL: https://terraria.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Item_IDs&action=purge‌). This prevents it from getting stuck on incorrect data, like the one you pointed out. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 01:15, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
I tried purging just now and it's not working. Celestial Emblem's internal name is blank.--Dragon3025 (talk) 00:10, 8 May 2020 (UTC)

Check Desktop IDs 5000+ now that IDs for non-Desktop versions have been split[]

May 2020 Missing Item IDs[]

Somehow, after trying to add it in manually myself, I've realised that everything is semi-automated with wiki specific references etc. So I checked out the Wormhole Potion page itself, and it appears to be created properly, so I'm stumped. TL;DR, Wormhole Potion Item ID (2997) is missing from the full Item IDs list. Somebody please fix? --Secpro (talk) 15:53, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

Whats the item ID for Ocram's Mask?[]

Now eventhough it got Mobile its still in Console, so what is the item ID for it? Nerozxd28 (talk) 10:16, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

Item Images Would be Very Useful[]

If possible at all, it'd be really useful if someone(s) could add item images to the list, whether it be via a template option that searches for an item on the original page, or done manually (absolutely not.) Potentially something akin to how the Projectile IDs page looks and organizes everything, obviously without straying too far from the current layout. MerpisMe (talk) 17:55, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

That is possible for sure; in fact, this page did include item images until not too long ago. However, since 1.4 introduced more than 1000 new items and we're now at a grand total of 5044 (even excluding 3DS exclusives), it would simply cripple the performance of the page. The great benefit of generating the list automatically and dynamically already comes at the cost of a comparably long loading time, and images would deteriorate that to an unbearable extent. Remember, that would be more than 5000 images on a single page! Projectile IDs does not have even a fifth of that, yet it also takes its time to load (even though it is all-manual).
This page is really only meant to serve as a convenient lookup for item IDs and internal names.

Item links to wrong page[]

Item 665, Red's Wings, links to a translated version of the wings page instead of the wings page. Instead of linking to terraria.gamepedia.com/Wings it links to terraria.gampedia.com/Wings/List/vi Normaly I would fix this myself, but I can't find where the table is generated/stored. XLgaming inc10371 (talk) 19:23, 13 July 2020 (UTC)

The same also applies to item 749, Butterfly Wings. XLgaming inc10371 (talk) 08:23, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
It is a known localization error that can be fixed easily by purging the Item IDs page (top right corner dropdown menu "Plus"). --Dinoxel talk 15:55, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

Jellyfish Banner and Jellyfish Jar are wrong[]

They should be Blue Jellyfish Banner and Blue Jellyfish Jar.

Not sure on the IDs though so I won't touch it myself. Prototype033 (talk) 12:39, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

Fixed, thank you for noting. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 13:42, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

Getting "Maximum number of loops have been performed" error on English[]

On the English version of this page, under ID list I'm only able to see a message saying "Maximum number of loops have been performed" and items 1-200. Is there any way to restore this data to get the full list?
