The Pickaxe Axe is the Pickaxe alternative to the Drax. Appearances and sounds aside, the two tools are functionally identical. The Pickaxe Axe's power is sufficient to mine any block other than Lihzahrd Bricks.

As with most pickaxes, the best Modifier available to the Pickaxe Axe is Light. While Legendary offers a wider array of improvements, most of these apply only to combat. Light offers a better speed boost, which is the only stat that affects mining, the primary role of pickaxes.

Trivia

• The tooltip mentions a hamdrill. That could be a reference to the old name of the Drax, which was Hamdrax, or possibly the Drax's old tooltip, which was "Not to be confused with a hamsaw".
• While most of the hallowed items emit light when swung, the Pickaxe Axe does not.
