are there any limits to where you are teleported? because each time i use one im fully prepared to be dumped into completely unknown cave systems and caving/adventuring my way back home ( or magic mirroring when inventory + safe+piggy bank are all out of space ), and each time i ended up in a place pretty close to home in a cave ive been tons of times rather then the uncharted terretory i hoped for ( though finding this will be a lot harder now, the dropshafts i use for purifying my whole world and keeeping my crimson locked in place between 2 shafts if it comes back got me nearly all caves mapped in the 1/3 of the map i fiished digging ) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.212.139.48

I inv-hacked a stack of 30 to test it out; 3 close to spawn, 1 in the dungeon (!), 26 failed to port. Methinks it needs debugging. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.239.152.172
Some interesting things while reading the source code: you can't teleport into the lizard before defeating planterra, you can't teleport in the dungeon before defeating skeletron, except above the surface line (after which you may be moved down till you stand on the ground, causing him to spawn anyway). You also shouldn't teleport above lava or other blocks that hurt. Anyway, after testing it with 55 potions I ended up at random locations and I can't find anything in the source code that would cause you to spawn near old locations. --0icke0 (talk) 09:05, 20 May 2014 (UTC)
hmmm,then in guess it was bad just bad luck, but very intresting to know it cant teleport you into the lizhard, dungeon below ground level ( though they'd need to fix possibility of teleporting into a spot where you woulf fall into below ground dungeon ) or above lava
