What's the chance of a WoF sweeping from right to left? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.76.133.106 at 01:28, 9 June 2014 (UTC)

It's not random. If you're on the left side of the world, it will go from left to right, and if you're on the right side, it will go from right to left. 130.160.195.19 01:34, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
Wow. That REALLY helps prepare for the WoF. Adding this in to the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.76.133.106 at 23:23, 9 June 2014 (UTC)

WoF doesnt spawn[]

I've used Gameiki mod to gt some resources, i got to the deepest underworld layer wher the world ends and i threw the doll but nothing happens. Even the text' "[guide] was slain" or something doesnt appear on chat. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.121.212.112 at 14:44, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

You have to throw it in lava. You threw it out of the bottom of the world. Anonymous132547698 (talk) 16:51, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
If you threw it into lava, but the text appeared, it could be a sign of the previous wall of flesh not fully despawning — Preceding unsigned comment added by Novastorm93 (talkcontribs) at 23:54, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

WoF iOS bug[]

So I've recently been wanting to put my home base world into hardmode, but whenever I use a guide voodoo doll and a guide is present in the world, the WoF spawns and kills the guide like normal, except the problem is is that when I do that, the game instantly kills me and says "(playername) has been bitten" and the WoF despawns. I'm 100% sure that this is a bug since this doesn't happen with any other bosses. If a version of the game is needed it's version 1.2.6530 iOS on the iPhone. I would appreciate any help on why this is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pointey (talkcontribs) at 23:33, 26 December 2014 (UTC)

i think you are doing this to the left/right borderline of the world so wof spawn directly on you and you istantly die — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.48.112.2 at 15:09, 2 June 2018 (UTC)

Debuff immunity?[]

What debuffs are WoF immune to? all debuffs? FunAlways (talk) 09:47, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

it is only immune to hellfire, on fire!, and confused — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.202.187.36 at 19:48, 5 April 2021‎ (UTC)

Mask drop rate[]

I killed the wall of flesh and got the wall of flesh mask. But when i tried to check its drop chance I noticed that its not even listed as a drop. Im using verson 1.2.4 of terraria btw. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.202.22.51 at 23:17, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

It's listed in the infobox, along with all the other drops, at a 14.29% chance to drop. Gearzein (talk) 23:27, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

it just dropped me a ...compass??[]

what was the thing? i found a compass in its enclosed loot. i mean, it couldnt be a mimic? what would a mimic do there? hope its not a bug81.220.42.148 05:39, 21 March 2015 (UTC)

A mimic could have fallen from a cave leading into the underworld and the box formed around it. Idk how it would have died though. Anonymous132547698 (talk) 16:50, 16 December 2016 (UTC)

where is my loot and chest[]

I was almost dead and killed the wof I teleported home and I went back down. but I couldn't find the chest. plz help because I am going to need to kill him again. I play on Xbox 360. plz respond using the edit below my ip — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.106.12.220 at 14:55, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

The wiki can't provide technical support. For issues like this you'll have to make a post on the official forums. Gearzein (talk) 01:52, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
thanks!! one last question where dose the chest spawn. plz respond using the edit below my "signature" ~zgardler — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.106.12.220 at 01:57, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
As far as I know the Wall of Flesh doesn't spawn any chests. Are you referring to the block-box the loot is dropped inside to not fall into lava? If so, this box appears on the exact location where the Wall died. Also, you can make proper signatures with ~~~~. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 20:10, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
uh... ok anyway I killed him over the bottom of the world I am worried that it spawned under the world!! plz respond using the edit below my ip — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.106.12.220 at 02:30, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
Sorry for a late reply. I doubt it matters anymore, but if you cannot relocate the loot then it'd probably be easiest to just defeat the boss once more. If you aren't up for that you can use an inventory editor. I'll also point out what Gearzein stated, that inquiries like these are best posted on the official Terraria forums. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 00:36, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

if loot drops into lava, can you retrive it or you just have to go again it. if any tips pls type here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.148.204.99 at 09:04, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

As described on the lava page, only most items with a rarity of Rarity level: 0 or below are destroyed upon contact with lava. Since all of the Wall of Flesh's drops have a rarity of Rarity level: 1 or higher, this would not affect any of them. You should be able to retrieve them at the bottom of the pool of lava they dropped into. Use an Obsidian Skin Potion or a Lava Charm/Lava Waders to enter lava without taking damage. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 16:25, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

Wall of Flesh bug: constantly rising to the surface[]

I just ran into a bug while fighting the Wall of Flesh (WoF). For reference, this happened on the PC version of the game, currently 1.3.0.8. Basically, the WoF spawned normally, but it started to rise to the surface when I reached a high point on the path I had prepared for the fight. Out of the three times this happened I died twice, but on the third attempt I managed to stay alive and watched to see how high it would go. It continued to rise up, beyond the Underworld, into the Cavern layer, and then finally up through the Surface. I was able to engage it again briefly before it went too high in the sky for me, but I did not succeed in killing it. I watched it on the map as it continued to rise, disappearing into space before it reached the far left edge of the map. I didn't die when it disappeared, but I didn't beat the WoF, so it was pretty much a fail.

I have done some research, and it appears that this is a known bug. Apparently, this bug can be triggered if you allow the WoF to get too high in the Underworld. I was surprised to find that it is not mentioned here, and that is indeed one reason I'm adding this discussion. But more importantly, I noticed that the last "tip" on the page says this: "You can make a long wooden platform going along the underworld quite high up so the stuctures, lava and mounds of ash do not get in the way." Considering the bug I have encountered and the reason for it, I think this tip should be either edited to alert players of the potential risk or just completely removed. Regardless of the tip however, I do think this page should mention the bug. It's quite a job to build a WoF arena in the Underworld... it would be good if players could be advised to build it low enough the first time so as not to trigger this bug. So Just Don't Go To High or To Low stay in the middle i don't know If this will help or not but yea guys .Vegtabill (talk) 14:18, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

( Unknown user ) were you in the underworld? cause if you just do it above the underworld it either: will not spawn or, the wall its self, [Along with the eyes and mouth and wall] will go above and if you spawn infront of it, the battle can countinue even in the overworld — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.105.94.149 at 05:20, 5 December 2018 (UTC)

Is there an efficient way to beat him on a Speed Run via Console?[]

My Brother and I are planning a speed run, and I can't think of the easiest way to beat him on a speed run, but on console edition (Xbox One). Does anybody have any ideas on what is most efficient? We can't decide. I'll be checking back to the discussion, but I'm looking to YouTube for sources. DerpSquad 4 (talk) 21:10, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

If you're looking for tips and tricks, you'll have better luck asking at the forums instead. –KM100 (talk) 21:30, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
You could look at the Guide:Wall of Flesh strategiesFerretwings (talk) 01:45, 18 February 2017 (UTC)
( Unknown user ) grenades, bombs, dynamite, motolov cocktail and the such explosives, or bee knees. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.105.94.149 at 05:22, 5 December 2018 (UTC)

What is his initial speed?[]

I'm trying to figure out how long it would take him to pass completely across a given-sized world -- maximum time, that is if the players basically don't engage. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 18:30, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

Update By MDTarantula it moves the half the speed of a Slime continuously Hopping — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.123.246.25 at 21:48, 22 April 2018 (UTC)

Wall of Flesh Body image[]

I wanted to add File:Wall of Flesh Body.png to the Components section today (image that I uploaded) but it was deleted 1 month ago. VMan 2002 (talk) 14:12, 27 May 2018 (UTC)

The body has no statistics unlike other components. There would be nothing to put in the infobox, so that is why I deleted it. – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 23:37, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
The body is just a wall, no stats like ReedemtheD3ad said. TurkeyNerdVader (talk) 16:46, 8 July 2018 (UTC)

WoF not spawning??[]

I have defeated the wall of flesh but there is a bug i am consernes about

When i tried fightinghim for the 5th time It was 3 terraria days a part from the last try and i tried to spawn him but it did not work but the guide was slain ?? It does not matter any more but i am still confused. Lunaticcultist989 (talk) 19:02, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

Did you fail to kill Wof in the previous try? If so, he might have yet to despawn. It will despawn when it reaches the world border (you might be able to see it on minimap). Murrayzero (talk) 19:08, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

Wall of flesh info box sounds errors[]

The Wall of Flesh’s roar is labelled as "killed" on its infobox. There should be another caption for this.

Also, the file of its leech burping sound is labelled as "NPC killed 13.wav". It needs to be renamed properly, as with many other audio files --Superwill771 (talk) 01:39, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

Why should there be another label? "Killed" is consistently used throughout the entire wiki to refer to the sound made when an entity is killed. What other caption do you suggest?
Regarding your second point: Do you mean that the label (i.e. the text in front of it, similar to the other "Hurt" and "Killed" labels) of the sound in the infobox is "NPC killed 13.wav" (as opposed to "Spawn Leech"), or that the sound file, File:NPC Killed 13.wav, is named this way? If the latter is the case; the sound files are extracted directly from the source code, so they retain their internal file name. This is important because the internal item and NPC statistics databases, of which we also keep a direct extract on the wiki, refer to the sound files with these names. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 07:08, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

2 great tactic's![]

tactic one:gear:bees knees,lava waders,star cannon with 99 stars,molten armor.tactic 2:a mine cart track 900 to 5000 pieces,molten armor 99 beenades. (there might be a better 1.4 update tactic,but I play on the PS4 and havent got the update yet) :( 73.180.30.93 05:45, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Summon roar[]

Does anybody know the summon roar file name? roar_0 is normal boss roar, roar_1 is worm dig, roar_2 is somebody screaming (?) If anyone know, or maybe the death and summon roar is the same, please help me :) Fachri Ahmad.B (talk) 12:40, 18 August 2020 (UTC)

You're right - the summon sound is NPC_Killed_10, the same as its death sound. --Eraloiz (talk) 12:49, 18 August 2020 (UTC)

help[]

can someone help me kill this thing? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Captenluigi (talkcontribs) at 22:22, 2 March 2021 (UTC)

Wiki talk pages are not for game support, the forums or the Terraria Discord are better locations. You might also want to read Wall of Flesh#Tips and Guide:Wall of Flesh strategies. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 20:39, 3 March 2021 (UTC)

Typo I can't seem to fix[]

At the top it describes the WOF with the "Still Hungry" achievement description. It says 'tat' instead of 'defeat' and i wanted to fix this, but it's using a template that's making it difficult. I still want it to be that size and have the WOF emojis on either side, but the text should say:

"Defeat the Wall of Flesh, the master and core of the world who arises after a great, burning sacrifice." - Still Hungry (Achievement)

— Preceding unsigned comment added by VioletZCato (talkcontribs) at 00:21, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for noting. I changed it to "The master and core of the world..." to make it consistent with the flavor texts on other bosses' articles. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 12:34, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
