Manual of Style

Symbol support vote Support - I full heartedly support the new and revised Manual of Style. I believe that this will benefit the editing community and all the new Users. I, personally, have been looking forward to having a set of "editing rules" to follow as I am a bit of a sucker for uniformity and organization. TerrariamcSwaggins (talk) 14:05, May 4, 2014 (UTC)

Symbol support vote Support -Pages are more professional-looking if they have a set style. I've seen this kind of thing work great. However, I don't think it should be enforced too harshly, just because people may not understand. SilverHexxitFights (talk) 15:22, May 4, 2014 (UTC)

Symbol support vote Support - I think that implementing a set set of rules for making pages would be a great idea. I think that if a page doesn't follow these guidelines that it should be changed ASAP. Hrm, I always wanted this sort of thing to be there and now it finally is. I hope this policy makes it. Symbol support vote Support - I took a few minutes to skim over the guide. It looks really good, it is well written and organized. I really can't think of anything else that needs to be added or changed. Really well done! Dak47922 Talk 05:25, June 15, 2014 (UTC)

Symbol support vote Support - I read through the guide a few times and, I fully agree with this. My support 100% ♪ I shot the sheriff! ♪ ~ 14:20, June 16, 2014 (UTC)

  • I agree about the point of putting the update info above the galleries, I also think it just looks nicer this way. Squirrel (talk) 19:20, June 8, 2014 (UTC)
  • I feel that Update Info should go at the bottom of any given page, above any navboxes. I don't really have a good reason for this, it just seems like that's how it should be to me. Also, regarding linking efficiency, I had the impression linking to the correct article was desirable rather than making use of redirects. Exitwound 45 (talk) 06:20, May 4, 2014 (UTC)
    • About Update Info: the reason I thought about putting it above the gallery is just so that particularly large galleries don't push important info way down the page. It's not an especially compelling reason, so I wouldn't really be all that opposed to changing it.

Regarding the second part: yeah, that's how it's been around here for a while. I just got to thinking about how doing it that way means that pages end up with a fair amount of unnecessary code (for instance, [[Soul of Night|Souls of Night]] takes nearly twice as many characters to type as [[Souls of Night]], but the result is the same), and also that there are several redirects which are just sort of there, unused/mostly unused (or at least supposed to be unused) in spite of there being several places where they would logically fit. I've been thinking about it for around a month now, but this is basically my way of proposing this particular change formally. :P Oscuritaforze (talk) 08:15, May 4, 2014 (UTC)
  • A couple of changes I think would work for this proposal, after looking it over again:
    1. Noting that language should be gender-neutral, except when a character with a definite gender (such as the Nurse or the Guide) is referred to.
    2. Noting that personal opinions should be excluded from articles.
    3. Changing the note about article captions to allow images to not have captions.
Would anyone mind if I were to implement these changes? Oscuritaforze (talk) 23:32, May 19, 2014 (UTC)
  • Err, these are pretty small changes, so I guess I'll just go ahead and make them? Anyone who opposes them after the fact, please just reply to this message. Oscuritaforze (talk) 02:53, May 23, 2014 (UTC)
