  • The Crimson Background

As I'm sure all of you noticed, you can see a huge skull and what looks like the remains of an archway that strongly resembles a huge rib cage. Could this be cthulhu? I don't know if this is a crazy idea, but help me if it isn't.

    • Oh my god. Guys, the crimson is not cthulhu. He is not made of stone, he is not made of red grass, he is a demigod, not a series of caves, he is not red, he is green. And there are no anatomical body parts of cthulhu! The crimson is not cthulhu. Stop with the theory. its not true, when will you people realize. Its not.

    • Its funny how you can't even prove your stupid theory is right so you just say "probably" hoping we'll excuse it. And I see no bones in the photo. This is just another spam post of a theory everyone knows isn't true.

    • Thank you so much. And seriously he did this offense twice. Once on this and once on the other boss idea. Can't I just post stuff in peace, have normal comments, and not comments from a really annoying person. Anyways thx mod.

      Also I'll clarify the bones:

Look behind the trees. One bone is sticking out of the ground and the others are part of a rib cage.

    • so many replys removed, i wonder what went down here, any how i personaly think this is an intresting idea and possibly true, though the eye of cthulu can be spawned anywere his brain will only spawn neer his skull, and shough i dont think that the caves have anything to do with it the backround makes an intresting case for this argument

    • Cthulu is the idea of an unbeatable enemy that will keep attacking endlessly. he isnt a physical being.

        Loading editor
    • I have never saw that big skull before. Maybe that is something else that is not Cthulhu. But also there is a brain of Cthulhu boss so maybe can be him.

        Loading editor
    • According to my main theory (That cthulu is actually the good guy but moon lord kiled him), this could be possible. Moon lord could have stolen his skin and made all his blood and flesh and stufffly onto the floor. His eyes, and wings are a totally different story, but then, creatures started lurking and blood made plants grow.

However, I don't think the skull is cthulu's. in my opinion, Skeletron is his skull. maybe the skull is from Moon Lord's old body?

        Loading editor
    • But again, we also see bones as part of the desert's background, so we can confirm there were some sort of huge monsterous creatures that went extinct in the desert and crimson biomes.

    • The skull is his head (but this is a theory who cares :p)

    • THE MEGA THEORY:

There was once two lords: a Sun Lord and a Moon Lord. One day, the Sun Lord spilled milk onto the Moon Lord (this made the True Eyes of Cthluhu). The Moon Lord was SO angry he sent a bunch of monsters at the Sun Lord (the remains are the bones in the desert)! The Sun Lord banished the monsters to his dungeon, which ended up being a desert (as i said, their bones are in the desert). The Moon Lord then smacked the Sun Lord into the Crimson, which was already bloody of the previous Lords (The Smarts Lord and The Star Lord). The Sun Lord's body dissovled, leaving the skeleton. Many things walked into the crimson and mutated into blood-thirsty creatures. The ichor of the Sun Lord (he was a major) spilled into bottles, creating Ichor Stickers.

Of course, this is a theory, and could explain the bones in the desert and Crimson.

It's funny how there are people who can't see the skull and bones. I took the liberty of uploading the high-resolution version of the raw background image just so people can see it clearly. There's definitely a skull (on the right) and a rib cage (on the left).

As for the theories, I don't really care much about arguing for which is the better speculation. It's a big monster that died and is seen in the background, that's the only fact here. It's possible Terraria spriters just popped it in the background to make the Crimson creepier, maybe as an explanation for where all of the blood and gore in the biome are from.

    • Somebody might have thought of this before, but I want to say it here:

Cthulhu's skeleton is the one in the backround. The Eye of cthulhu is his eye, and the brain HIS brain. His blood that spilled over the lands summoned the crimson enemies, and resurrected his eye and brain. I also want to say that skeletron is his skull, but his skull is already there. The crimson tainted the lands summoning all other bosses, except for the mechs, who were built by an unknown being, and the moon lord, who is probably cthulhu's attempt to resurrect himself. So the whole reason why you're fighting for your life is cthulhu. Thank you, cthulhu. We all hate you.

    • The Crimson was sent by the evil martians to contaminate the world. idk about the giant skull that thing creepy as heckle

        Loading editor
    • moon lord is not a failed ressurection of cthulu. Moon Lord was announced to be cthulu's brother.

    • theres an interesting theory on youtube if youre wondering

    • All i'm going to say is

Wasn't Cthulhu supposed to be basically immortal?

        Loading editor
    • It wasn't supposed to be anything. It was just a Cthulhu art in the ocean. There was nothing else about it.

        Loading editor
    • A giant died, and his blood soaked into the ground and cursed it

        Loading editor
    • Cuthulu was trying to make more corruptions. The dryad who was a god then snuck some life seeds into the ground where the new corruption was. But this was a bad ideas. It made a horrific land scape called the crimson.

        Loading editor
    • How do we know how this Blood-Themed Biome formed?

It's impossible. Cthulu is basically invincible and will remain forever. If he leaks blood, he can literally flood our world with the crimson, and I hate digging through the crimstone bricks with a Nightmare Pickaxe my friend gave me (Can't reforge) so I instead asked him to use his DCU.

Also, since Cthulu's body parts can be summoned endlessly, therefore, this monster is endlessly regrowing (You can't really live without a brain, but how can you have infinite brains). His blood horrified the terrain, time to take out the Holy Water (and realise that I want flesh blocks, XD)

Also, King Dice one's idea......meh, this will be A VANDAL USER's idea.
