  • Throughout my years of playing Terraria, I noticed some evidence that Golem could actually be a robot rather than a true golem. The first being that metal clanking noises can be heard when he takes damage, meaning that he could be made of metal instrad of rock or brick. The second being his fists. A true golem would not have fists connected to its body by spring-like cords. The third being the fact that he can shoot fireballs and lasers from his mouth and eyes respectively. This could mean that his face has weapons built into it. The fourth being his detachable head and the fact that it is able to levitate. That doesn’t need explaining. There’s also the fact that he explodes upon death...

After putting all these facts into place, it seems very likely that Golem is truely a robot and has all the Lihzahrds fooled...

    • I don't think that needs theories. It's very noticeable that he has mechanical parts.

Terraria is looking like it's fond of alien themes and it seems like it is following an ancient aliens vibe, the theory that aliens visited earth and were mistaken as Gods and taught humans how to use technology and made them build pyramids.

The Jungle Temple has mechanical traps so Golem could be seen as just another trap. Cultists worshiping the Moon Lord appear after fighting the Golem and alien probes start appearing as well, which can trigger an Alien invasion. Defeating the Cultists start the Lunar Event that also summon aliens.

I believe Terraria has more Sci-fi themes than fantasy.

Yeah, mainly because: Golem Fist is a mechanical weapon instead of a magic weapon. Maybe they thought that Golem is a standing piece of rock. But it's a robot, and it needs a power cell (instead of some magic) to come alive. But due to the fact that Lihzards are very very overwhelming in a swarm, it's deserving for them to be fooled.

    • I say as cuthulu is the main God of the game. When creating the corruption some of the stone corrupted this also corrupted the lisards. With the corrupted stone they this gave the now intelegant lisards sacrifised each other. They brought the brains of the dead lisards into a  mech called golem. So I think golem is a stone mech.
