1.3 Range

I don't believe a spacing of 92 tiles is necessary in 1.3. Unsure of the new mechanics, I built my farm of 6x6 blocks still spaced only 38 tiles apart and all have grown in nearly completely. http://i.imgur.com/PPGjNyC.jpg --ValornTheRed (talk) 21:28, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Contradiction/Inconsistency in 1.3 Range

The page speaks of 92 blocks 'range' (which implies a circle of 92 blocks in which it checks), but it also speaks of 92 blocks spacing (which implies that it checks up to 92 blocks from the source, or a 184 radius circle), and the page also says that the second check - which is said to be '110 ore blocks in a 95 tile range (95x95 or an area of 9025)' is changed to 41 ore blocks (making it 41 ore max with a 95x95 area check) - which would mean a rectangle of 42.5 'radius'. That means the page says the check is a 92 radius circle, a 184 radius circle and a 95x95 square at the same time. On top of that, ValornTheRed's image ( http://i.imgur.com/PPGjNyC.jpg ) clearly shows 6x6 squares spaced 38 blocks apart fully grown - even with the best-fitting wiki information (41 in 95x95) that doesn't add up, since 38 blocks apart 6x6 squares gives 72 ore in a 6x56 area or 108 ore in a 6x94 area. It says that the information was obtained through 'testing' - if the testing was done correctly, it would be nice if the results could be translated properly into the wiki page, with no contradictions - in that case, ValornTheRed's test was invalid, and should be looked into further. If the testing was invalid, the information is, too, and new testing has to be conducted.

EDIT: I realize now that I cannot even math, and that a 92 range means 92 radius. Nevertheless, the page contradicts itself and the findings by ValornTheRed (92 radius circle, 95x95 square, but both aren't in line with ValornTheRed's findings).

1.3 Changes according to the CODE

There are still two range checks. Range check changes are as follows:

  • Near-range limitation has been updated from 24 ore in a 38 tile "radius" (a square measuring 38 tiles from center to edge) to 41 ore in a 35 tile radius
  • Long-range limitation has been updated from 111 ore in a 95 tile radius to 131 ore in an 85 tile radius

Essentially, more ore can now grow in a smaller area. Feel free to test.

I can confirm that these numbers bear more resemblance to the current code. I've started on an overhaul of the Spread Mechanics section that will explain in a bit more detail, resolve the numbers, and illustrate the the actual range checked when attempting to spread chlorophyte. My preliminary observations are in this thread here. Critcodedtuna (talk) 02:23, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

Other requirements.

Are there other requirements than the ones listed? Im playing expert, post-plantera, and i made a bunch of chlorophyte-cubes (7*7 mud cube with a chlorophyte in the middle) on a single vertical line in the cavern layers, with a spacing of at least 70 blocks between each of them. It should fulfill all the requirements, but im not getting any new ores. I would add a screenshot if i knew how to.--Ababcdc (talk) 11:07, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
