The Golden Shower is a Hardmode magic weapon that fires an arcing golden stream, similar to the Aqua Scepter. It inflicts the Ichor Debuff to enemies, which lowers their defense by 20. The stream pierces up to 5 enemies. The Golden Shower sprays three times per click, and the player can change the direction of aim between these sprays. Enemies hit will glow gold, and can easily be seen even in complete darkness.

Crafting the Golden Shower requires ingredients found only in worlds containing Crimson, so it cannot be obtained in worlds containing Corruption without ingredients from other worlds. Even so, it may take a while for an Underground Crimson biome to form.

Its best Modifier is Mythical.

Notes

• On the  PC versions and  Console versions, players do not receive the debuff in PvP games.
• The Golden Shower projectile is very long, rather than being a small projectile traveling quickly, as most other weapons produce.
• The Golden Shower's stream is affected by gravity.
• When fighting any worm type enemy, the debuff only applies to the parts of it that the stream hits.

Tips

• The Golden Shower's fast speed and piercing ability make it a great item for fighting large groups of enemies.
• Its ability to reduce defenses makes it effective against bosses, as one can attack with it and then equip a stronger weapon to deal even more damage. Alternatively, one can use Flask of Ichor or Ichor Bullets.
• In Expert mode, defense damage reduction is higher, thus making the defense reduction effect of this weapon more valuable.
• It is one of the best magic weapons for taking out worm-type enemies before obtaining a Magical Harp.
• Combine this weapon with the Crystal Storm, Cursed Flames, or the Magnet Sphere for devastating effect against groups.
• Enemies hit by the stream will glow even in complete darkness, and the glow is bright enough to match that of a Hunter Potion.
• It is one of very few weapons acquired in early Hardmode (or in the game at all) that one can continue to use even to the end of the game. Although its damage will be very minor, it will still inflict its debuff (which few are immune to), making it especially useful for boss fights, end-game enemies, and increasing your DPS.
• Since it is easily obtained early on in Hardmode, and is very useful for surviving the increased difficulty, obtaining it should be a priority as soon as the Wall of Flesh is defeated in Crimson worlds.

Trivia

• "Golden shower" is a slang term for the act of urinating on someone, with the name here likely referring to the fact that the attack looks like a stream of urine.
• For its tier, this item is one of the highest DPS magic items in the game (without even considering the defense-lowering ability), with a DPS of 233. Counting the reduction of defense, Golden Shower has a DPS of roughly 339.
• It can be considered a Crimson counterpart to the Corruption's Cursed Flames, being a magic weapon crafted from a Spell Tome and unique ingredients that drop from a few of the Underground Crimson's enemies.
