#REDIRECT Guide:Farming resources#Chlorophyte ore

Chlorophyte Ore is one of the final ores available and is used to craft many end-game items. It can however, be somewhat uncommon in the Underground Jungle and large veins may take a long time to grow. Therefore, instead of searching through and/or seeding the Underground Jungle, players may wish to build a farm for Chlorophyte to give themselves a renewable supply of it.

Basic Requirements
In order to start with Chlorophyte farming, there are a couple of requirements:

*Their world must be in Hardmode (enter Hardmode for your world by defeating the Wall of Flesh)

**However, the player must defeat all three Mechanical Bosses (The Destroyer, The Twins, and Skeletron Prime) in order to craft a Pickaxe Axe or Drax, which is the minimum lowest-tier pickaxe or drill that can mine Chlorophyte. They will need either in order to obtain ore to 'seed' their farm, and therefore mine the Chlorophyte they farm.

Spread Mechanics
<small>Please see the Chlorophyte Ore page for more in depth information.</small>

*Chlorophyte will only naturally 'seed' (generating naturally, first as a single block replacing a random mud block) in Hardmode Underground Jungles (natural, artificial, or Clentaminator spread Jungles) but ore can be seeded practically anywhere underground.

**Chlorophyte will spread at Underground depth or below, but will spread much more at Cavern depth and below.

*Chlorophyte does not need any kind of lighting to spread.

*Chlorophyte does have a spreading limit

**The underground minimum is 12 ore blocks in a 57 tile range (57x57 or an area of 114) and the max is 55 ore blocks in a 143 tile range (143x143 or an area of 286)

**The cavern minimum is 24 ore blocks in a 38 tile range (38x38 or an area of 76) and the max is 110 ore blocks in a 95 tile range (95x95 or an area of 190)

***This means, for example, in a 38x38 sized farm, no more Chlorophyte will spread if there is 24 Chlorophyte Ore or more blocks total, including the center ore blocks that seed each mud square

*Chlorophyte will spread in front of player-placed background walls.

Farming Methods
Method One
A primary method to farm Chlorophyte is to build sets of 5x5 mud squares with one Chlorophyte Ore in the middle of each. A minimum of 38x38 of empty space is recommended, and the player should have nine squares (give or take a few) to maximize yield for the small area. This method has the advantage of small but fast yields, but will not yield as much ore as a few 5x5 mud lots in their own 38x38 areas of empty space.

Minimum spacing between them (three blocks high horizontally/two blocks high vertically), torches, player-placed background walls, and platforms and/or ropes are recommended for navigation.

Method Two
One other method of farming Chlorophyte if the player wants slower but larger yields is to utilize a 38x38 area of empty space like the above method, but have a single 5x5 mud square in the middle of said empty space, and an extra 38x38 of empty space for each additional mud square. This requires much more space than multiple squares in a single 38x38 area of empty space, but will give much larger yields if a player is patient enough. One area they could easily utilize for this method is the Underworld, as Chlorophyte will grow even to that depth and the underworld has plenty of horizontal space and more than enough vertical clearance, usually. One does not need to clear space for a farm in the underworld, they can merely utilize space already available.
