Animation of the Wooden Bow.

The Wooden Bow is the weakest bow in the game, dealing 4 base damage plus the damage of the arrow being fired. It is very cheap to make, and is therefore usually the first ranged weapon a player will acquire.

Its best modifier is Demonic, as it does not have any knockback and thus cannot get modifiers that affect it. It can also get the Deadly modifier, which, while the Demonic modifier may provide the greatest damage per hit, grants a higher increase to the overall DPS.

Tips

• Due to the low cost and ease of amassing large amounts of Wood, it may be a good idea to craft Wooden Bows until one has the Demonic modifier. In this way the Wooden Bows are superior to base ore bows.
• On the first night, a Wooden Bow is a good way to keep Zombies and Demon Eyes at bay, rather than a Wooden Sword which requires getting up close.
